Small Business Support and Grant Opporunties in Northamptonshire as a result of Covid-19

It really has been a tough year for a vast majority of businesses throughout the world and of course here in Northamptonshire where we work and live. Some companies are hanging on for dear life and others have sadly made the decision to close.

For those businesses that have been imapcted and are still trading there are a few opportunities available for support, grants and help locally. Sadly the amount of businesses that can apply are limited, however without applying you will never know if you are chosen.

SEMLEP Kickstart Grants
This scheme, initially launched in July was set up to help local businesses to access external expertise, consultancy support, or equipment if there business was directly im[acted by the cornavirus pandemic. Last week (18th November) the scheme reopenend on a ballot basis. All you need to do is visit this link and submit an expression of interest to receive grant funding through SEMLEP’s Growth Hub Kickstart Grant Scheme. Upon closure of the grant which is up to 2pm on Wednesday 25th November ballots will be drawn at regular intervals until all fund are allocated. Grans of between £1,000 – £3,000 are available for SME’s in Bedforshire, Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire. There is a criteria set for the examples of work that the grant will cover and this does include strategy development, marketing planning, web design and development plus more. East Northants Council, Wellingborough Council and Enterprise Nation ecommerce grant
Two local councils -East Northamptonshire and Wellingborough are supporting local businesses to launch an ecommerce presence in conjunction with a partnership betwen the small business support network, Enterprise Nation.

This opportunity is only available for retailers and businesses affected by lockdown and who don’t already trade online. Funding for a total of 50 businesses across the geographies of the two councils has been allocated to enable them to take part in Enterprise Nation’s online Christmas market initiative, Gifted. Those who successfully apply for the funded places will also receive a 12 month membership to Enterprise Nation’s support network.
